Broken Arrow Campout
Purpose & Objectives
Join us for our annual Broken Arrow campout on April 17-19! It’s a time for us to do a brush clearing service project, build a giant bonfire, eat a pig and some pies, and invite our families out Saturday night to get a taste of the scouting experience!
We will also need several adults to come out during the day on Saturday and help with chainsaws and leaf blowers. Having enough adults for the service project also helps us build a big, epic bonfire with all of the brush and logs we stack. Let’s do it!
On Saturday evening, families of scouts (siblings, parents, grandparents, etc.) are invited out to the bonfire and to eat a delicious dinner of a 100lb pig plus Woodruff’s famous pies!
Advancement Opportunities
Earn two nights of camping, participate in a brush/ditch clearing service project, a tree planting service project, and get some cooking requirements signed off if you choose to plan and cook some of your own meals.
Who Can Participate
All registered scouts and adults are welcome from Friday evening to Sunday morning breakfast. Families of scouts are welcome to join for the bonfire on Saturday afternoon/evening dinner and bonfire starting at approximately 6pm.
Camping Location
We will be camping at Clay Coleman’s property approximatly 45 minutes northwest of Lynchburg. This dropped pin on Google Maps shows the exact location we will be camping. However, these written driving directions may be more useful if you have trouble with GPS directions.
